Q: I am a newly licensed agent, and I need to join the association. What is the process for becoming a member?
A: The first thing you need to do is fill out the membership application on the forms page. You will need to submit the application, along with the $40 application fee. Once your application is processed, you will receive your invoice for the yearly dues, and you will have 30 days to pay those fees. Any dues not paid within the 30 day time frame will be subject to a $50 late fee.
Q: I would like to transfer to the Cherokee Association from another association/board. What do I need to do to transfer my membership?
A: The first thing you need to do is fill out the membership application on the forms page. Once this forms is complete and you submit it to the association, your application will be processed. You will have 30 days to pay the remainder of the dues you owe. Any dues not paid within the 30 day time frame will be subject to a $50 late fee.
Q: I was previously a member of the Cherokee Association, but I have recently been inactive. I would like to re-instate my membership, but I’m not sure what I need to do.
A: You will need to fill out and submit the office transfer form on the forms page. You will be billed for the remainder of the yearly dues. Any dues not paid within the 30 day time frame will be subject to a $50 late fee.
Q: How long does it take for my application to get processed once I submit it to the association?
A: As long as the proper information is submitted (correct forms, application fee-if applicable, etc…), and the application is legible, it will be processed within 24 hours. Any applications received on a Friday will be processed the following Monday.
Q: Why do you need my email address?
A: Email addresses are mandated by the National Association of Realtors. Almost all of our communication is done through email. Please make sure you provide us with a current email address, that you check often, so you can be sure to get our monthly newsletter, your invoices so you can pay them on time, and so we can get in touch with you should a problem arise. If your email address changes at any time throughout the year, please notify us of the change and provide us with your new email.
Q: How much are the annual REALTOR® dues for the Cherokee Association? Are they prorated by month?
A: A full year of membership is $360. Yes, the dues are pro-rated out by month. You will find the Dues Pro-ration Table helpful in breaking down the yearly dues. New members that have never been a member of a Board/Association when yearly dues are collected, will be responsible for paying for the current year and the year being billed.
Q: When are the yearly dues due?
A: The due date for all annual dues is October 1st.
